Just purchased a 1994 New Yorker LHS.Have noticed when we slow to turn or come to a stop then start going the transmission seems to jump. Kind of like it's in neutral then jumps into gear?

It is possible that the 1994 New Yorker LHS is having a problem with the transmission if it jumps when starting out. A transmission sensor might be bad or a belt in the transmission is stretched.

Sounds like the transmission is fine, but your display plate has shifted a bit.. I've noticed it on a few cars I've owned in the past.. You might be able to pull it back into place with a finger, but it shouldn't be a problem if you ignore it..
