The fundamental principle of American democracy that is the basis for the Declaration of Independence being sent to King George III and is reflected in John Locke's ideas of a social contract is that of popular sovereignty. Popular sovereignty is the principle that the power of the state is derived from the will of the people. This is the basis for both the Declaration of Independence and Locke's ideas of a social contract because it establishes that the people have the right to overthrow a government that is not in their best interest. The Declaration of Independence was sent to King George III to inform him that the people of the United States had chosen to exercise their right to popular sovereignty by forming their own government. Locke's social contract also established popular sovereignty by arguing that the people have the right to overthrow oppressive governments and form new ones that would better serve their interests.

Focus on King George was necessary for contractual justification, as colonists had maintained their only contract was with crown.
King George the Third put a tax on tea because he couldn't afford the affars any morewell yea that's right but really it was for the french and Indian war!!h
The king imposed unjust taxes and restricted trade.
Technically the colonistss did'nt break their social contract. The King of England decided to impose unfair and unjust taxes and demands on the colonists which broke his end of the social contract with the colonists. therefore, the colonists decided to break off from England, eventually resulting in the Revolutionary War.
As far as we know he never advised the King directly. He did however have thoughts about the role of the King. His idea was that there was a "social contract" between the King and his subjects on the basis of which the King always should be the executive of the 'general will'. Later on, this provided the King's adversaries with the argument that he could therefore be deposed if he broke this social contract causing his policies and decisions to be against or out of step with the 'general will' of the people.

King George III
Social Contract is a contract between the king and the people. People give power to the government to create and enforce laws. The king would protect the natural rights through laws. When the contract is broken, people have the right to change the government. Social contract is agreeing on something . This could be any where from modeling to political.

First, all men posses unalienable rights. Each American has the right to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Secondly, the point was that King George III make unfair laws, interfering with government affairs and giving extreme taxes. Third, the colonies had the right to break away interfering Britian. Since KG III broke the social contract they no longer had to obey him.
