Answered it for myself. Solenoid pack leaking. Dealer charged about $300.00. If there's a next time I'll do it myself and save about 120.00. Can anybody tell me what good warranties are when they don't cover anything.
It's right on the front of the transaxle, down near the bottom of the case; it will have a large wiring connector plugged into it from the top with a bolt in the middle. Google "A604 soleniod pack" - this is a common issue with this transaxle, and there are a lot of good pictures and step-by-step "How-To"s online.
4t65-e transaxle most common problem I have found with this trans is with the Press. Con. Solenoid Also on the 4T65-E trans code 1811 max shift adapts usually caused by internal leaks or clutch packs out of spec
A transaxle is a transmission and differential combined into one unit. A differential will be hooked to a transmission with a driveshaft. Transaxles are most common on front wheel drive vehicles. Differentials are most common on rear wheel drive vehicles.
Yes, very common. Replace solenoid pack.
Yes they do, it has several. The most common is the shift solenoid which is located in the oil pan for the transmission.
When I took my 96 Caravan to be aligned they said there is no rear adjustment that can be done.
The antifreeze is not coming from your transaxle actually it is usually from your intake ,running down the trans case. This is a very common problem that 3.1,3.4 lt have is leaks at the intake. You have to replace your intake seals. But check under your throttle body ass. to make sure its the intake and not the heater hose connection that runs underthere.
The function of solenoid can be quite diverse. This is a valve that is operated electromagnetically. One of the common functions is to help in opening and closing of a laser shatter.
Most auto parts stores should be a common part
I am also dealing with a oil leak from a 2000 dodge caravan. Common problems seem to be valve cover and oil pan gaskets or crank seals. What is the engine size? First thing is to clean all the oil off and identify where the leak is coming from. For instance I found the leak on my 3 liter is coming from my front crank seal, now i just need to find some clear instructions on the right way to change it. GL
There are many solenoids on a typical vehicle. One of the most common usages is the *starter* solenoid - which is part of the starter assembly.See "Related Questions" below for more
I'm not sure which solenoid you are referring to but if you are asking about the VTEC solenoid I might be able to help. The solenoid itself has never leaked for me but on all of my VTEC equipped vehicles the gasket between the solenoid assembly and the head leaked. It's fairly easy to replace and fairly cheap and one of the most common oil leaks on the head.
