He was the first artist to add perspective to his work. You can see an example of this in The Last Supper. I have seen several paintings of his and they are truly magnificent. His Saint Ann seems to glow. I saw her in the British art museum and sat in wonder that a man could paint anything so beautiful. All of his life he kept notes and asked questions looking for the answers. From these notes he thought of things far in advance of his time. The Renaissance would have been a poorer place without his work.
