You might be thinking of "Wonderful World," recorded by Sam Cooke. The lyrics begin, "Don't know much about history." Later it says "...but I do know that I love you And I know that if you love me too What a wonderful world this would be." There are at least two other songs with almost the same title, though.

Sam Cooke sang (What A) Wonderful World (don't know much about history, don't know much biology, don't know much about science books, don't know much about the French I took...) as well as did Herman's Hermits.
