If your hymen has not yet been broken and you have intercourse for the first time, you may experience bleeding. This is usually during penetration or immediately after but may vary from woman to woman. There are cases where no bleeding is present and cases where the bleeding is delayed until several hours later.

The hymen is a small piece of thin skin which goes across the opening of the vagina. It's a remnant form when we were in the womb and the vaginal opening was supposed to be closed and have no purpose. Some are born without. Sometimes a girl might already have broken her hymen without knowing about it (biking or playing sports), there for she may not bleed.

It is not a necessity for woman to bleed when she loses her virginity and shouldn't happen at all for a guy.
