The possible problem could be a faulty idea air control valve or a dirty throttle plate. Also, inspect the car for any vacuum leaks.
freeze plugs?
Is the fan functioning?
My guess would be that the catalytic converter is plugged, or maybe some other exhaust blockage. The exhaust cannot go through the system and the car stalls. As it "cools off" the pressure is actually equalizing, or coming back to atmospheric and the exhaust can flow freely again, for a while. I would check this scenario out, could be something to it.

You have a faulty temp sensor. Change the sensor. Make sure car is not overheating. WRONG, IT WAS IGN MODULE AND CRANK SENSOR. BUT THANKS ANYWAY, I FOUND IT AND FIXED IT MYSELF.TWO AND A HALF WEEKS AGO, I FOR GOT ABOUT ASKING YOU GUYS, AS USUAL,I DID IT AGAIN,BUT THANKS AGAIN VICKIEJT
MAF went bad. Installed a new Saturn MAF (129.99) which solved the issue completely. No pending/current codes. No Stalls. Runs great.
It most likely is the air temp sensor. they are 20 dollars. I would also suggest replacing your PCV valve and your thermostat.
its the fuel pump check the relays and wiring and then have your try changing your pump.
A 1996 Plymouth Breeze that starts and runs until it warms up, but then stalls might have a problem with a temperature sensor. The sensor is telling the computer that the temperature is too high for the engine to operate safely. Check the Electronic Temperature Sensor or the Manifold Pressure Sensor (MAP).
