Will a transmission from a 1998 Ford Windstar fit a 1995 Ford Windstar?

I am looking around to replace the transmission on my 1995 Ford Windstar and the information that I received from several different mechanics is that the 1995 Windstar transmission is a "one year" transmission so you pretty much have to get a 1995 transmission for a 1995 windstar engine. I'm no mechanic and really have no idea but this is just what I've been told... someone out!

96 Windstar speedometer cable floats between 90km and up what does this mean?

It means that you vehicle speed sensor on the transmission is bad and needs replaced. The speedometer is controled by the computer even though it is a needle and not digital readout. The odometer however is controled by a cable (engineers sheesh). The sensor is located on the top of the transmission back by the firewall good luck getting in there the manual says to remove the exaust manafold.

Speedometer reading too slow on 2000 Windstar?

My 2001 speedometer reads too fast... Here's what I figure is happening:I use the smaller of the recommended tire size (per the Owners Manual) - but the speedometer thinks I have the larger ones and calculates the speed accordingly. So when my speedometer says I'm going 78 mph, I'm actually only going 75 - I figure that has saved me from a few tickets in PA & Ohio.If your speedometer is way off, a transmission shop may be able to help you with what should be a relatively inexpensive fix.
