If you didnt already know, most dragons use there eye sight to see there prey when they are hunting... Usually when more then one dragon is keep in the same enclosure, a hard subtrate is recommended.. when a dragon is on, say, walnut shells, there feet tend to hide underneath the substrate. So when they move around there feet/toes may sometimes look like food to another dragon.... If you are housing more than one dragon together, I would recommend using something hard.. Things I would use are pieces of tile, reptile liner or even alfalfa pellets.... Ifyou are only housing one dragon, you are pretty much ok with anything.... With my dragon, I have her on alfalfa pellets. She seems to like them very much.. Plus another advantage I have found with alfalfa pellets is that it make your room smell pretty good.. I have her in a 60 gallon tank so it requires a 25 lb bag of pellets......

How can you tell the difference between a Chinese Korean and a Japanese dragon?

Chinese Dragons have 4 toes, and 5 for the highest Dragon which in almost all cases represents the Emperor, and they are often represented with their life force (the dragon ball) in one of its claws. The Korean dragon is more water based and also has Four toes but that's as high as it goes and I have yet to see them holding the dragon ball, except in its mouth...which contrasts with the Chinese etymology. Lastly, the Japanese dragon only has 3 toes.

What is the main difference between Western dragons and Chinese dragons?

European dragons are known to have leathery wings, breathe fire, and they say that they're big enough to eat a whale. Oriental dragons are said to (some of them are said this) they have feathery wings, can breathe venom, ice, ect. that kind of stuff. They are said to be bigger than an oak tree. The biggest difference is in appearance. The European dragon most often has a very feline body whereas the Oriental dragon is snake-like and most usually has whiskers.I'm a dragon myself, and, as far as I'm concerned, you're both wrong! I happen to be a European dragon. In reality, there aren't any dragons that go by "Oriental", but European dragons, such as myself, are at the absolute top of the food chain. We do have leathery wings, but we aren't huge by default, we happen to be able to control our size willingly (Shrink to as small as we please or grow to as large as we please). We do not have a feline-like body! What you were thinking of happens to be a different classification class of dragon, not often called by the correct term, which is Phelera. Phelera dragons are closely related to Europeans, but aren't the same. Also, every single class of dragons can have control over any specific element.A Chinese dragon is a lot longer than a European dragon and European dragon is known to be vicious, cruel, dangerous and are considered evil, whereas Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize luck and hope.A Chinese dragon is longer, low to the ground, and does not have wings. According to legend it can fly without them. A European dragon is large, four-legged, and has wings. (Whisper-European dragons are better, in my opinion, but I mean no offense and please don't be mad because of my opinion. They are my favorite.)A European dragon is fourlegged and it does have wings. But they are not evil or vicious by original nature. To say that is narrow-minded and foolish.

What lizard eats fruits and vegetables and has long toes?

I'm afraid that most lizards that eat fruits and vegetables have long toes. You will need to be more specific. For example, does the lizard ONLY eat fruits and vegetables, or does it eat other things, as well? Is it a desert species, or a tropical species? Is it large, or small? A list of the more common species that eat plants includes the green iguana (and many other iguana species), uromastix (all species), blue-tongued skink, monkey-tailed skink, and bearded dragon. There are more.

Do all dragons come from China?

Dragons are considered legendary creatures in diverse cultures. In most continents can be found tales and legends related with dragons. However, the characteristics of dragons and their description can show wide variations between one culture and other. For example, while Asian dragons are in general benevolent and lucky creatures, European dragons are described as predating on humans with some exceptions as i.e. in Celtic tales. Asian dragons alone, come from China, Japan, Korean, Vietnam, Thailand and many other places. They are distinguished from each other by the number of claws that they have on the feet. Chinese dragons have five claws, Japanese have three. The basic rules being the further from China you get the less claws (toes) the dragon has.

What will happen if you get one bearded dragon?

As long as you give him/her lots of attention he/she will be fine! They tend to be very docile and love being with their people! Mine likes it when I turn the radio on when I leave so he has some thing to listen to... We also put him in a central location so he interacts with us and watches TV every day! I have 5 bearded dragons and they also like the radio. Sometimes they will "dance" to it. As the other said, also place it in a central location, they enjoy "human watching". It's always fun to watch how they interact with each other as well. The dominant dragon will "bob" their head and the submissive dragon will wave back acknowledging the other as the dominant one. I would not recommend to house a bearded dragon with another. They are very solitary. They like people if you handle them when they are young. They love attention and should absolutely be in a central location of your home where they can see what is going on. I have 7 dragons all in separate enclosures. I let them out one at a time and they will go visit the others at the doors where I get to observe all the headbobs and waves. It is very fun to watch and it keeps them on their toes. Getting just one dragon is recommended. They don't need company and like their own personal territory. Some people will house them together without incident, but that is pure luck. Better safe than sorry.

How do you know bearded dragon is sick?

I have a list of common illnesses that may affect your bearded dragon. Genentic Disease Genetic diseases are hereditary health problems bearded dragons are born with. They occur in the offspring of dragons that are closely related. Some genetic diseases involve deformed limbs, tails, and possibly extra appendages. Calcium & Vitamin D3 Deficiencies When a bearded dragon has deficiencies it can cause seizures, stunted growth, deformities, poor bone growth, and brittle bones. Vitamin D3 and calcium problems can be solved by making sure your bearded dragon receives proper lighting and dietary supplements. Beta-Carotine Deficiencies A deficiency in bera-carotine will cause the coloration of your bearded dragon to fade over time. This is especially prevalent in lizards with bright color variations. The easiest way to rectify the problem is to include carrots and yellow vegetables in the bearded dragon's diet. Overfeeding Babies & Juveniles Overfeeding baby and juvenile bearded dragons causes paralysis in the hind quarters and is usually fatal. It results from the pressure of the food bolus on the spinal nerves. Therefor, do not overfeed the young lizards and do not give them insects that are too large for them. The best way to check this is if the food is bigger than the gap between their eyes it too big to feed them Injuries It is not uncommon for bearded dragons housed together to inflict unjury upon less aggressive lizards. They may lose toes or tail tips from the combative behavior. The injury should be treated with a disinfectant ointment. If aggression persists, separate caging is the only way to stop the fighting. Respiratory Infection Signs of respiratory infection are gaping, noisy breathing, and mucus discharge from the nose and mouth. It is usually caused by low temperatures, high humidity, or both. You should keep your bearded dragon warm and at a relatively low humidity. It is often required to see a veterinarian. Gastrointestinal Infections Signs of gastrointestinal infection are weight loss, lack of appetite, and foul smelling diarrhea. This type of illness must be treated by a veterinarian. Fungal Infections Fungal infection are caused by a warm, damp environment. The infection occurs in a cut or scrape on your bearded dragon. It should be treated with an anti-fungal ointment. Egg Binding Egg binding can be caused by calcium deficiency, being under or overweight, or the bearded dragon can't find a suitable egg nest. Have a deep, soil substrate for your lizard to dig a nest. If egg binding is caused by a different reason, you will need to take the animal to the veterinarian. If there is a suitable spot to dig a nest and the animal stops eating for days and keeps looking for a place to lay its eggs, there is a problem. (source: BeardedDragonGuides.com)
