Employability skills vary tremendously depending upon what job you would like to have. Different jobs require different skills. But most jobs do require certain basic skills. Almost every job requires literacy, for example. Not every job requires the ability to drive a car, but some do. (Insert a thousand other examples.)

In general key skills are those that all jobs require for instance;

Able to work on your own and as part of a team

Problem solving skills - important to working on your own initiative

The language that the company operates in i.e. using English to a good standard both in writing and speaking

Using numbers as a skill - Most jobs have some kind of maths involved

Using ICT - Most companies will require reasonable understanding of computers even if your not informed on their specific software you will still have the very basics for them to build on

Developing yourself - Companies need to know that you can to a degree learn, be taught and even identify your own learning needs in relation to the work you are asked to do.

Many employability skills are similar for most jobs. Being on time, friendly, cooperative, and demonstrate direct knowledge of job duties are examples of key competencies.
