The advantage of loyalists during the American Revolution was that the British had more money and could afford to feed and pay their solders better. They also had the advantage that they were on the winning side until Washington settled down in his winter quarters in Valley Forge and decided to turn the Revolutionary War into a war of attrition.

The British had many advantages in the Revolutionary War:

1) They had a greater number of troops

2) They had an organized navy

3) They were used to American soil/had already fought there in French-Indian War

4) They had no European wars going on at the time

The loyalists had the advantage of probably being involved in the higher class of society if the British won the war.
