MOS would be most interchangeable with Rate in the navy. Rate is pretty much another word for job specialty as is mos. Rate may also be referred to as a NEC.
I haven't heard that term when relating to the US Navy. But in the Royal Navy SDG is a scubadiver

The oldest an enlistee to the US Navy can be is 35. The minimum age is 17. The Navy Reserve, however, has no maximum age restriction. The Navy typicaly limits new recurits to 30 years of age. If you have a special skill they need you may be able to get in older than that.
