To 'get rid of' a sim, I take that you mean you don't want them in your household any more. You can use the 'move' option on the sim's computer or phone to kick a sim out of the household, or there are a variety of ways that a sim can die - most involving the sim not being able to attend to their needs, so they starve to death or something similar.

∙ 12y agoFirst off, go into "Build/Buy" mode.
Make sure there are no doors or windows that rely on the deck for support. If there is a wall connected to the deck that has a door or window, you'll have to move it before you can remove the whole deck. (Outdoor lights on that wall will stay there just fine.)
Next, move or delete any objects that you have on the deck.
You may have to remove any Fencing that you put on your deck, too.
Then, there are two options to totally get rid of your deck;
1. You can click on the foundation tool, which is in Buy mode, and hold CTRL while dragging the foundation arrow around the perimeter of your deck, and that will delete it.
2. Click the hammer, which will destroy/delete anything that you click on with it. If you click and drag over your deck, it will delete anything and everything within the area that is shaded (usually green). But be careful, because it will delete walls that you shade, too.

Go to Build Mode. You will see four buttons on the side near the left-hand corner of the bottom of the screen. There will be a hand, a sledge hammer, and two others. Click the sledge hammer and click on each square of your deck. It will automatically delete it when you click on it and refund the money you spent on it. Also, you can click on one square of your deck and drag it across the rest of the deck, deleting the whole deck instantly.
