If the glove box will not stay shut, look at the lock mechanism, the hinge and the latch. If either of these is bent, broken or loose, replace it. These are the most common causes.
glove box
I have a 1975 Eldorado and there is a button inside the glove box to push. It pops the trunk lid open. Hope it works for you.
The one on top is to open the trunk. The one on the bottom is to open the fuel door.
There's a (fuel door) button on the dash (toward the center), next to the trunk open button. But both these buttons are disabled if the valet switch in the glove box is depressed. See to that valet switch (button) first.
Turn the Gas Cap to the LEFT!!(Counter clockwise) this has been done IT IS STUCK, I a,m not a blonde
HOW DO I OPEN HOOD ON CAR WHEN CABLE IS BROKEN
Open the glove box and on the edge there is the traction control button.

Inside the glove box there is a button you push. I think you got to have the ignition on for it to operate.
There should be a button inside your glove compartment. You may need the key in the ignition to operate the button.
While in the auto open the glove box. With the ignition switch turned on press the yellow button inside to the left of the glove box. It should release the trunk lid. If it does not the trunk release or the wiring to it may be bad.
should only turn off with opening of driver door, this is for those who forget to turn lights off,to save the battery,if driver door is open then the car knows no one is driving.
