Without ICT you would not have been able to ask this question.

internet, mobile phones, electric media, electronic games are among the ICT family, all the programs and applications are ICT.

ICT makes the world smaller. ICT makes the world more open and transparent. Think the Arabian Spring. Without ICT it is doubt full the world would have known about the rise, nor would the rise -maybe- been equally successful.

ICT is important around the world because with it information travels faster, reach more recipients and ables the people to communicate with others across far distances, with various ways, images and video as well as sound.
