IT COULD BE ANGINA OR A HEART ATTACK. SEEK HELP ASAP TO BE SAFE AND SURE.
Answer
It can be many things, the only way to be absolutely certain is to visit your doctor or go to your local hospital. Chest pains are potentially life threatening so I would seek medical help immediately.
With any chest pain/discomfort, you should see a physician ASAP. Also, take aspirin.
Just because you have pain in the left part of your chest, it does not mean you have any heart-related illness. However, it is a possibility.
Pain in the center of the chest, pressure like someone sitting on you? pain spreading to either or both arms or neck? could be a heartattack. if it's just pain and no other symptoms, hernia or gas. either way, seek medical help. there's no point in being in pain.
Could be a dozen different conditions. If you feel it may be your heart, or if you are older or have a history of heart trouble, or feel certain it's a heart attack call 911 or have someone drive you to the hospital right away. Do not drive yourself unless you have no choice, as you may pass out behind the wheel.
If you feel it's heartburn or something else, here is a trick to save you time and money, call your doctor's office, and ask to speak with the NURSE say you have a pain and need to ascertain whether or not you need an appointment. The nurse can usually get right on the phone and give you advice. This usually saves a trip to the doctor and a lot of time and money. Sometimes if it's complicated, the nurse will talk with you, take your number down, speak with the doctor, and call you back with a prescription or other advice. I've done this a million times, saves me a $40 co-pay and a trip to the doctor.
If you are uninsured or do not have a regular doctor, look in the phone book or on your city or town's website for the health department hotline. They usually have a nurse available to speak to people confidentialy and answer health questions, and give referrals to people who need low cost or free medical care.
If your city does not offer this service, look for a low-cost clinic in your area. Call your local hospital for referrals most hospitals have charity programs for uninsured and community programs, or a speak-to-a-nurse service like those mentioned above.

Your best bet is to ask a doctor. It could be anything from a problem with the shoulder joint, a cracked rib, pinched nerve or numerous other things. Sounds like you may have damaged a pectoral muscle.

See a doctor if you experience any chest pain. Not all problems that cause chest pain will affect blood pressure. Plus, there are so many possible causes it that it will be impossible to get an answer on here. Doctors will look at other signs and symptoms in addition to the chest pain to help narrow down the cause. Hope this helps!
