While there is conflict in Israel now and there was conflict in Israel during the Crusades, it is not as if the current Israeli-Palestinian Conflict is an extension of the Crusades. It is being fought by very different people for very different reasons. There have also been long periods of relative peace in the region; no major war broke out in that area from 1500-1900.
