An orphaned boy with holes in his clothes is raised on a farm with people who don't want him in the house. The boy's caregiver sells the boy to his neighbour to work. The caregiver then takes off with his wife on a carriage. The boy gets to know this new family and is given a place to stay in an outhouse like building. The family also gives him hand me down clothes and shoes, which were better than what he had. Eventually the boy is sent to work as an apprentice for a tailor/framer (can't remember). Later on the tailor/framer gives the boy an object which allows the boy to later enroll into a wizard school where he learns magic. He stays at the school and is eventually put on a team. The team is sent out on a routine security check of a route towards another town and on the way they are engaged in a magic battle.
Not quite sure what you mean with "fantasy equivalent"; please note that Doctor Who itself is a fantasy series.

If this does not sound as an accurate answer or needs to be improved, please improve the answer or have a discussion about my answer, also maybe leave a comment saying why you agree or disagree about my answer. Thank You and please remember i know allot about genres, but you may improve it.
Sorry, I can't grasp what you are asking. 'How is nuclear energy described as' doesn't make sense to me. Could you rephrase this please.
