Ah, Ice Path, the part of GSC everyone loves to hate. It gave me so much trouble too, back when I was young. Unfortunately, you have to go through it, there's no way around it. Fortunately, it's the hardest part of this version, so once you're through it not only can you Fly over it into Blackthorn you also shouldn't have too much trouble with Victory Road.
The hardest part for me was always the ice patches. Some tips for getting through those: try to envision the path you need to take backwards, starting from where you want to be; if you're not sure what to do try going in each possible direction and see where that gets you; try to avoid going in circles (or squares or rectangles, as the case may be); and if all else fails just move around randomly (but pay attention, you might get within a few moves of where you want to go).
Another tricky part is the part where you have to use Strength to drop the boulders down through the (black, square) holes. Be careful where you move the boulders, if you get them stuck in corners you may not be able to get to the exit, although I think there might be an extra boulder in case you screw up. Be sure to drop ALL the boulders down before you go down yourself, it will save you time and frustration as you try to get through the ice below. And may I repeat: NEVER EVER EVER push the boulders into a corner or any other space you cannot move them out of, unless that space happens to be a hole.
Once you get through that part the rest is fairly straightforward. Good luck, and don't forget to save once you make it through!
