∙ 14y agoThe goblins and the wargs charged into the valley, and so the elves, dwarves and men were able to have an advantage over them. They charged into the valley and fought them brutally. They thought they were closing in on victory, when still more goblins and wolf-riders appeared above them, and their hopes crashed. But suddenly out of the door of Smaug's mountain came Thorin Oakenshield, followed by the twelve dwarves. They fought madly. Gandalf also was there. And to put the final touch on it, Beorn appeared in the form of an enormous, enraged black bear. The goblins ran in each direction, terrified, but Beorn was practically untouchable. Then Bilbo looked up and saw to his great delight that the Eagles were coming! He cried out excitedly, but a goblin threw a rock onto his helmet, and he blacked out.
