History has shown workers that unions cannot prevent layoffs or high unemployment. Unions cannot get anything an employer won't give during negotiations. No strikers ever recovered economically from pay lost while on strike. More workers are college grads who have litte interest in unions. Many associate unions with lower social class, thuggishness, and violence.
