if this is a color mixing question, red + blue = purple. if you are not getting a good purple, maybe brownish or greyish, it could be that your red and/or blue is not very pure. For instance there may be a small ammount of yellow in your red. You dont notice it because red is a stronger color than yellow and it takes a lot to make it orange, but when you mix in other colors it messes things up.
I can safely say that when you mix red blue together you get purple a very pinkish purple
