The rehearsal dinner is usually seen as an informal way for the two families to spend some time together before the big day, and an opportunity for the Bride and Groom-to-be to thank those who have helped contribute.
Whilst there are no formal seating traditions, it would probably be expected for the Bride and Groom to be sat with both sets of parents and possibly the Best Man and Maid of Honor.
