the caliper needs a special tool. the piston does not push straight in. the spring needs to be released at the rear of the caliper. then using the special tool the piston twists back in to place
To bleed brakes on your 2008 Uplander front and rear, disconnect the brake line at the caliper.
You will have to take a pair of pliers and rotate the calipar in a clockwise fashion while applying pressure. Be sure to line up the indentation on the calipar with the stubs on the brake pad.
A sticky brake caliper could do that.
Remove wheel loosen and remove flexible brake line to caliper Remove 2 mounting bolts Slide caliper off rotor
Remove wheel, remove the bolt holding brake hose to the caliper, remove the two pins that hold the caliper to the caliper bracket using a 3/8" allen wrench, remove caliper. Inspect brake pads and brake hose for damage, replace if necessary. Install new brake caliper in reverse order. Bleed system.

Remove the caliper retaining bolts from the inside of the caliper. Lift the caliper off the mounting bracket and over the rotor. Slide the old inner and outer brake pads out of the caliper, and slide the new brake pads into the caliper.
Could be a frozen piston inside the caliper Could be a defective brake hose Could be a damaged (pinched) brake line
Probably has a sticky brake caliper or sticky brake caliper sliders. Who ever replaced the brake pads should have seen that.
