I would not recommend this combination, since it does have an increased risk of hypertensive effects. However, it is possible that a low dosage of each would be prescribed to treat different symptoms (social phobia / ADHD). I have never seen this combination prescribed before though.

∙ 14y agomy son is 10 years old and was taking concerta, sttratera, and risperdal. Just recently we replace risperdal for abilify and is working well so far. abilify has less side effects than other antipsychotic medications. My son is taking it for his tantrums and good so far.

∙ 15y agoThis combination can decrease the seizure threshold, cause hypertension, insomnia, and many other negative effects. Given that you are talking about a seven year old child, I would not recommend either medication unless it is absolutely necessary. I would consult with your doctor regarding this.

It also says that you should stop taking Straterra if you notice your child has sudden changes in behavior such as irratibility and suicidal thoughts. i would not advise taking any concerta while taking lexapro. I am currently taking lexapro and have taken concerta about 7 times. Each time i took concerta i would hear many scary voices in my head. i looked up the psycotic effects of concerta and they said that a side effect of concerta is hearing voices if you are on an antidepressant
