They are controlled by internal hydraulics so they will always 'free wheel'. As the engine warms up, the valving within the clutch actuates it. Sounds OK to me.

How do you check a fan clutch?

When the engine is cold, open the hood before starting up. Try and spin the fan by hand. The fan should spin with considerable resistance. If the fan free wheels with no resistance then the fan clutch is bad. If the fan does not spin at all, the clutch is seized.

How do you tell if a 2000 dodge durango fan clutch is working properly?

You simply see if it spins freely. If it does, the clutch fan is shot! Do this while motor is turned off The fan should spin freely if the engine is cold. If the engine is warmed up, shut down the engine and check the fan. Warm, the fan should turn, but should have some drag to it.

Normal oil pressure for a c5 Corvette my Corvette seems to have higher then normal pressure at idle its about 60 psi should i be worried or do anything?

c5 corvette has bad sending units[ engineer world its called a transducer], $600 to replace since the intake manifold has to be R & R ALSO, when cold the Oil pressure will be in the 70 psi range then when hot, on a stock c5 this happens quickly because GM designed the car to run hot to paSS EMMISSIONS, IT WILL DROP TO APPROX 20 PSI. Normal operationg oil pressure for a 1999 corvette should be anywhere for 50 to 60 psi depending on oil one is using.
