It depends on how mature the couple is. Some people can get married in their early 20s, while others prefer to wait until they get their education and get settled in their career. More and more people are waiting until they are in their 30s to get married and they start their families much later in life than they use too. I know a lot of young people are afraid of marriage because they see the high percentages of divorces. 3/4 of the school classes have students that are from divorced parents. It's obvious many people out there are selfish and don't seem to put a whole lot of effort into their marriages. We weren't promised a rose garden in anything in life and marriage takes work and commitment. If you aren't willing to do that and want to be free to further your education, travel or just have some freedom for fun, then don't settle down. Get it out of your system first. Some people do get married for the wrong reasons when they're younger, to get out of a bad living situation, right after high school or college graduation because they assume that's what everyone else is doing. You don't get married to make yourself whole or complete; two self sufficient individuals get married or cohabitate to share their lives and interests together. If you're not ready to share your life fully, don't get married or live with someone yet. Enjoy your twenties. Live on your own, get a steady job you can afford to live on, purchase a car, pay bills, manage your own finances, travel by yourself.
