The Maid of Honor should wear something different than the Bride in ANY wedding (trust me!)
morning suits or black tie attire
A backyard wedding, although it might be more casual than other weddings, should still be thought of as a wedding. For women, a short simple summer type dress with sandals and for men, khakis & a short sleeve shirt are appropiate.
Something casual and comfortable.
Depends on the time of day, place, and how formal. If it is an evening wedding and very formal then you want a dress that is formal and dressy. If it is an afternoon wedding and more casual you could wear a sundress. Your age also has something to do with the style of dress and you need to pick a color that looks good on you. Discuss the wedding with the bride or your sister/brother to find out the type of wedding it is and what they expect.

it all depends on the style of wedding, for instance you dont wear a fancy dress to a casual wedding also it depends on the theme of the wedding if its a winter themed, try wearing a white ruffle blouse and a flowy light blue skirt but is made out of thick material. for boys for a casual wedding a dress shirt, tux and shoes. hope that helps
* If it were a black tie wedding then it would be announced in the wedding invitation. Since you haven't done this leave it up to the individual guests as most of the men will wear different colored ties; some with sports jackets and slacks; suits or perhaps just slacks and a shirt with a tie. If you are having a very casual wedding then you could mention 'casual dress.' However, the first suggestion given is generally the best.
The word casually is an adverb. It means to do something in a casual manner.
Wear business casual but something you will be comfortable wearing for several hours.
Casual, or neat casual. (Two different types of dress.) Casual is what you might wear around the house when you aren't planning on going out or receiving visitors. Neat casual is when you might dress up a little, say, to go down the street. Also for a funeral, birthday party, or to go to the city. Formal is when you dress for, say, a ceremony; maybe a deb, graduation or wedding.
Casual attire is something that is not formal, such as jeans and a comfortable top.
No, it is not proper etiquette to send weddinginvitations by email if it is a large wedding. If you are having a small wedding and it's casual then you could send a card invitation by email.
