No.
If you don't like something, change the channel or find a different station, or better yet go and find something creative to do.
Throughout history, society has been enchanted by music. Whenever it is ritual, emotional release, religious, or just plainly relaxing. Music has been at the center of our society. We use music to express ourselves, to tell stories, and let others into our thoughts. However, we often wonder if what we are saying has an effect on the listening audience. Recently music has been made link to violence and deviant behaviour to music. (Yes I think sexual and violent songs should be banned from radios and televisions because) (These songs are corrupting the minds of our youths, bad influence,). They have a lot of negative effects on society. In addition there needs to be a profound look at the words from songs that the youths listen to. Sexual and violent songs are influencing viewers to reject the morals of society, based on their persuasive effectiveness for all.
They shouldn't be banned. There is no objective criteria whereby songs can be judged as either violent or non-violent. There is no consensus. Censorship violates free speech rights and stifles creativity. Although there are laws permitting the FCC to issue fines for offensive content on Broadcast Television, those laws do not apply to Cable Television. Also, the laws do not constitute a ban. The do not prevent anything. They merely permit fines after the fact.
First, I do not agree that they should be banned. I understand that in some societies, especially in cultures that are very conservative, the church and the government want any mention of sex banned from the airwaves, because it is believed these songs send a bad message to children and might lead them to do bad things. Of course, contrary to myth, there is not much correlation between young people hearing a song about sex and going out to imitate what is being sung about. But the belief that music has a direct influence on young people persists.
Sometimes, songs do get censored even in the United States: if a song contains what is considered "bad language" (rude words for sexual functions), most radio stations and even many video channels will either not play it at all or they will edit out the vulgarities. But the fact remains that for hundreds of years, all over the world, people have written and sung songs about sex. It is not unusual at all, and I am not convinced that banning these songs will have a positive effect in the end. Often, what is banned becomes even more desirable and more sought after, especially by kids who wonder what the fuss is about.
Other opinions about this question:
In asking this question, we are overlooking several other important ones. Namely, why do people write about sex? What topics do people write about in lyrics, and why? What's the big deal about sex, anyway? Why should songs about sex (and love, let's not forget that) be banned? Maybe because some people are uncomfortable discussing sex in any form and want to project those feelings on the rest of society.
Sex and love is the nature of LIFE. We cannot exist as a species without reproducing. Therefore, we are naturally inclined to express our feelings about sex and love through music, something which has been done for thousands of years.
NO. NOT ROCK AT LEAST. BUT HIP HOP SHOULD DEFINATELY BE DESTROYED.
They should be banned, because they are showing our young children bad things, that they should not be learning, right now, at this point.
why should they be? no other mediums have this censorship imposed.
It should be--- The American public are quick to blame minorities for crimes in the US. The reason for this, is because of the media.
If referred generically as you did in your question, no. But, a specific one, such as Facebook, should be
First, you should organize your ideas of what you want to persuade; for example, in an essay about violence you should start by the main idea.Second, use a thesis statement, so it can guide you to the details. How is it that media violence has a negative effect on those who are exposed to it? First of, those who consume high levels of media violence are more likely to be aggressive in the real world. Secondly, those who watch high levels of media violence are at increased risk of aggressive behaviour as adults. And finally, media violence stimulates fear in some people, and desensitizes people to real violence.
The media is as greedy as an obese kid at a free food fair. She relished in the media spotlight. Many people have social media accounts. The media often gets facts wrong.
AnswerThe answer is media (?).Refer http://grammarist.com/usage/media-mediums/
No, Not all media.
It should not be banned. The free press is an essential part of democracy.
No. there is no logical or rational reason to ban anyone from the media.
To what extent should the government act as a media censor; especially in regard to violent content directed at young people?
a person tries to emulate a violent incident they have seen in the media
it can increase agressive and violent behavior
You can't use that format.
When referring to media, negative effects is the belief that the media can affect behavior in a negative way. This is also called the theory of "strong media effects," the theory that there is a strong like between, let's say, watching violent TV shows and then going out and acting in a violent way. It should be noted that there is no credible evidence to support this theory, but it is widely believed in some circles.
