Im not saying this just because i am a student...but i really do think that students should get at least a short break because we have been working hard for full weeks for a full 9 months and students get tired every now and then. We should take a once day break to ease our mind or do any other work that needs to be done not just waste the day.."CARPE DIEM"...
and to the students...be thankful that you have at least a short break to enjoyy before you suffer in school again...be thankful to even have a day out of shcool...people are so ungreatful these days...

∙ 16y agoParents can take a child out of school for legitimate reasons. There is a maximum number of days that a child can miss before they are not considered to be in attendance, or they no longer meet the requirements to be considered to have attended that year. Taking kids out of school for a day or two for some educational reason, or family need is usually acceptable, but requires the parents to notify the school that they are doing so. It also helps to talk with the teachers and get missed homework assignments, or alternative work.

When varies every year, but that information should come from your high school counselor at school, so do not worry. As for where, it depends on where you live. For example, if you live in Queens, you should be taking it at Long Island High School. Manhattan students take it at Stuyvesant High School.
