no the UK shouldn't. what the UK should is leave the European union and become with the usa as the 51st state of the us, but first the UK need to become a republic and ditch the countries in the commonwealth, british overseas territiries and british crown dependencies.
It is all up to the British government, they decide the currency, maybe they will change to Euros in the future, or maybe they will stay with Pounds. They will most likely stay with Pounds since it is stronger than the Euro.
