School uniform SHOULD be compulsory because you won't be happy if your good clothes are ruined, a uniform is neat and tidy, if an unknown person walks into your school you can identify them and you don't have to compete with other kids in fashionable clothes!
Some other reasons are:
You spend less time getting ready in the morning, when you buy uniforms they usually last 1 or 2 years but with normal clothes you have to buy more all the time. It helps identify students from your school from students from another school if you're at an inter-school event! If your wearing a uniform you can focus on school work better because there isn't lots of bright colours and patterns to distract you. It makes everyone feel equal, you won't lose your good clothes and it prepares you for wearing a uniform for work.
Most importantly poorer people don't get teased for having bad clothes and richer people, with more expensive clothes, don't look down on the poorer people for having those bad clothes.
