Anytime you experience bleeding you should go to the ER or contact your doctor to be sure you're not having any complications with the placenta separating from the uterus or with your baby. It's unlikely to mis-carry after the 12th week but still possible. Other times, you might have bleeding because of an std... pelvic inflammatory diseases irritate the cervix and cause swelling inside the vagina which will lead to bleeding during/after intercourse.
