I have a cat and a dog. I love both of them do death. I can't answer your question, but i can help you answer it yourself. If you are a totally calm layed back person you and a cat would be a perfect match. But if you are always looking for something exciting to do you will find that a dog is always keeping you on your toes. Dog's are always READY FOR ACTION. and cats are always, READY TO SLEEP!

∙ 15y agoIt really depends on what the owner prefers and the owner's lifestyle. If, for instance, there was a person who was always rushing off to work and always busy, then a cat would be better than a dog, because cats don't need as much care as dogs do. But, if there was somebody who was looking for a companion and wasn't that busy, then a dog would be best because cats are usually prowling around outside. If your asking for my opinion, I prefer dogs.
