If you are at all concerned about a fracture or break, then you should go to a doctor and get xrays. If it is just a twist or sprain, then you should ice it for a few days and then get right to work exercising it, so that scar tissue doesn't build up and totally immobilize it. The fastest and best way to heal a sprained ankle is to do exercises to increase mobility and strength in the injured joint, so long as you don't cause pain. Take it slowly and continue to do exercises specifically designed to help the ankle joint.

The best exercises I've found are in the HEM system for ankle sprains. It worked wonders for me.... http://www.rehabanklesprain.com

You really should not walk on it too much, but if you can walk on it, put on a brace and try to continue. If you can't, see a doctor

R.I.C.E.: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation; does your job accommodate this? All things are relative, but best to stay off your feet as much as possible.

put ice on it then heat on it and let it rest and don't move it if it gets worse go to the hospital....

It depends on how sore it is, you can try soaking it in some warm water and epson salt or an ice pack and for pain you can take motrin you can also rub it
