Actually, tomatoes change flavor when refrigerated. They do best left at room temperature. I've had tomatoes last up to 2 weeks and longer sitting on the kitchen counter. Refrigeration might slow deterioration, but - in my experience - not by much.

NO. Tomatoes should NEVER be kept in the fridge, they will go to waste much quicker if kept in a colder environment, than at room temperature.
