Actually, tomatoes change flavor when refrigerated. They do best left at room temperature. I've had tomatoes last up to 2 weeks and longer sitting on the kitchen counter. Refrigeration might slow deterioration, but - in my experience - not by much.
Only if it has been sliced. Only if it has been sliced.
I would say about 4-5 days unless it is sliced.
No, because a lot of the time the tomato will lose some of it's flavour
NO. Tomatoes should NEVER be kept in the fridge, they will go to waste much quicker if kept in a colder environment, than at room temperature.
Yes but not in the freezer.
i will probably say two weeks
they spoil faster at room temperature
Low temperatures reduce the action of ripening enzymes. When tomatoes are stored in a refrigerator the colder temperature causes ripening enzymes to slow down, which slows the ripening process.
To be ultra safe, stick to three days.
Don't the best temperature for the tomato is 16 Celsius never put in the refrigerator. At home put in a box or paper bag on shelf.
Putting an unripe tomato in the sunlight is a bad way to ripen them. The best place to put an unripened tomato is on top of your refrigerator. The warmth is what helps them to ripen. Enjoy your tomatoes!
Keep tomatoes at room temperature, in one layer. Every day turn them over to rest on the other side and check for soft spots or splits. Use those immediately. To chill place in the refrigerator for an hour or so, longer causes the flavor to deteriorate.
Avocados. Although technically they may be considered fruit. Same goes for tomatoes. Potatoes also don't need to be refrigerated, and they are definitely a vegetable. :)
Generally, metal containers should not be used for long-term storage particularly if they are used to store acidic ingredients like tomatoes.
