Some companies ask for this.
It is not necessary or advisable to put a picture on your resume. The practice of including a picture on a resume is more common outside of the United States. With the use of Linkedin and other social media sites a picture is acceptable and much more common. It is not appropriate to imprint the picture on the resume itself or attach a photo unless specifically requested by a potential employer.

∙ 13y agoIt is very much recommended that you DO NOT attach a picture to your resume. If you do that, you are leading the employer to evaluate you based on your looks, and they could discriminate.
Every company has different qualities they look for in a candidate, and even if you are attractive, you could not be hired for being too good-looking. That really does happen. Although it's illegal, it does happen. So do not whatsoever attach a picture.
It's all about your skills on your resume.
Please also remember that it all depends on where you live and what customs are in your country. In the USA it is a very bad idea to add your picture on a resume; however in Europe this is quite common and is not considered as discrimination.
Try putting a passport size picture or any formal picture, maybe 2x2 picture.

∙ 14y agoYou should not put a picture on your resume. At least in the US, this is not the custom as the employee should be selected for an interview based solely on their resume content (experience, etc.) rather than a person's appearance.
