Ask your crab. If he doesn't mind.....put them in.As long as you have the following, you should be ok. * Humidity gauges (humidity: 75-85% relative) * Temperature gauges (temperature: 70-75°F) * Substrate: sand, coconut fiber (must be deep and diggable for moulting) * Minimum of a 5 gallon tank for one crab; and 10 gallon tank for about 20 crabs * Shells (shells are changed during growth) * Separate moulting tank * Fresh water dish * Salt water pool for submerging (aquarium salt)

Yes, you can but you need to disinfect the rocks before you put them in with the animals. That is easily done by scrubbing the mud off of them and boiling them to kill all the little critters, fungus, and bacteria that might make your crab sick. Put them in a pot of water and simmer them on the stove for about 10 minutes. Treat driftwood the same way then let it dry in the sun or bake it dry in the oven at low heat (around 250F) .

Terrestrial habitats are not as sensitive to minerals that might leach out of the rocks as are aquatic habitats. You certainly don't want to collect random rocks and put them in with your fish because the minerals may upset the water chemistry. The safest course of action is to use only those rocks that are sold at the pet store.

not the real rocks but the colorful rocks that you can get from the pet store. the real rocks could make them tumble but a couple in the corner should do :]

Yes you can but it wouldn't be a good idea because they could burrow down in them whoop whoop

Hermit Crabs can use cocanut husk, or soil that you get from any pet store used for reptiles. Hermit Crabs also use sand, they need a wet and also dry climate. If you get oil from the ground, you must bake it or freeze it in a really hot or cold temp. for a long while.
