Before you start to run with a puppy they should be at least two years old.
I am thinking about breeding my golden retriever for fun because I love dogs and love goldens! I am doing research right now about what it entails and would love any advice. Thanks!
A Golden Retriever is a very gentle breed! They usually good with other dogs, large or small. I would see how they get along together before leaving them alone.
When a dog has their "period", it is called a heat cycle. Bigger breed dogs, such as a Golden Retriever, usually do not have their first heat cycle under 12 months of age. Though 16 months old is not common, some Goldens can wait until 18 months before having their first one. Here is an article about Golden Retriever's and their heat cycle: http://www.all-about-goldens.com/canine-heat-cycle.html
Not before 2 years of age. Also need to get hips, eyes and elbows certified before breeding to insure you only pass on good (or better) qualities in the breed.
When it starts eating solid food.
yes they will ,but the golden retriever will think the cat will be a toy. But they do get along.Yes, I have a golden and the cats get along with him very well. Typically, golden retrievers get along with every body.
Our 14 year old Golden Retriever reduced/stopped eating over a period of 4 days and then stopped drinking 24hrs before she died.
Well, I've seen chocolate golden retrievers before. They aren't very common. Your vet may be able to tell you what breed that the puppy is. If not, I'm not sure. Just try to consult with your vet.
If the family has young children and has never owned dogs before and isn't experienced at training or handling dogs, then either a golden retriever or a Labrador retriever would probably be better than a German shepherd. German shepherds are generally not appropriate for families with babies or young children. However, both golden retrievers and Labrador retrievers need to be very well trained and very well socialized to live successfully with a family, so whatever breed is chosen the family needs to commit together to devote the necessary time (and it is a LOT of time) to train, socialize, and care for the dog. This is a commitment and decision that no family should make lightly.
No, Sellers had filmed most of it before he died, and they used clips from the older movies to fill in the gaps. Source: Videohounds Golden Movie Retriever 2005
