Should you wear a sunscreen even indoors?
Yes, i would recommend using sunscreen indoors. Although windows filter out some of the UV rays, UV rays are still able to get to your skin. Certain computers, lights, etc. can transmit UV rays.
Usually shorts and a t-shirt work. If you are on a team, you should wear the team uniform. If you are playing indoors, wear sneakers, and if you are outdoors on a sand court, barefoot is usually okay (but be careful not to burn your feet). Indoors you should also consider knee and possibly elbow pads, depending on how far you will go to save the ball.
You should wear cleats to play field hockey if you are playing on a grass field. If you are playing indoors you should wear sneakers. If you are on artificial turf you should wear turf shoes and if you don't have turf shoes you should wear sneakers. But sneakers wouldn't be a good idea because you slide EVERYWHERE.
Sunscreen in itself is not necessarily good for you- I mean, if you put it on and then stay inside all day, it won't do you any good.
