The sports were close to the same with Ice Hockey and soccer. Some other ones were similar like base ball even though Babe Ruth could never be beaten. The similarity of government stands by the fact that the republicans have mostly had the most influence on every thing.

There are many more differences than similarities between today and the 1960s.

Similarities are:

  1. Children still go to school and the methods of teacing have not changed a great deal.
  2. People still work in order to pay bills and get the things they want, although jobs, especially good jobs, are much harder to find now, and many manufacturing jobs have gone to other countries.
  3. The government system is still the same, although people felt like their representatives represented then better back in the 1960s and people trusted the government more.
  4. People eat many of the same foods today, but in the 1960s factory farms were unheard of of GMO crops had not been introduced.
  5. People still shop much the same as they did back in the 1960s, though prices are much higher and there are more large corporate owned stores, like Walmart now. Many of the smaller chains and family-owned stores have gone out of business.

In the United States, the decade of the 1920's often called the Roaring 20's, was for the most part an exciting and prosperous decade. Then the stock exchange collapse in the last years of the 20's brought in the Great Depression of the 1930's.

The two decades are dramatically different. The 1930's depression saw unemployment rise to 25% and many banks and other businesses failed.
