Sound is a vibration, like heat, it hits molecules and vibrates them and this vibrates the eardrums. When there are no molecules, however, there is no means of the vibrations travelling through the molecules and the sound doesn't transfer.

Sound is the propagation of pressure waves. Pressure is created by atoms bumping into or pulling on other atoms thereby transferring momentum to their neighbors. If there is no matter present, there are no atoms to bump and pull on each other.

No they can travel through earth and water

Earthquakes are sound waves or vibrations just coming from rocks shifting

And someone can easily clap or stomp to make a noise under water and you will hear or feel it again they are just vibrations that conduct a noise according to the mass and material of the object

A sound wave can travel through air, water or any other liquid or solid matter. The distance the wave can travel is dependent on the medium the sound wave has to go through. Temperature and atmospheric pressure can also have an effect

No, because water {and many more} can make sound waves travel because when you're underwater you can hear someone talking to you. -GC<3
