Best Answer

The speed of light, in wave or particle form, travels at approximately 300,000,000 meters per second in a vacuum. Although this speed remains constant, the frequency and wavelength are subject to change. These difference account for various colors of visible light.

Elementary my Dear, You are obviously talking about Wave speed and the formula for wave speed is X= N times F X= wave speed N= Wavelength and F= Frequency (also frequency is the number of crests in a wave shown the SI unit is Hertz).

the speed of a sound wave is 340 m/s (in air) while the speed of light 300,000,000 m/s (in vacuum)

The speed of any wave is (frequency) x (wavelength).

Well, if you wanted to sound more scholarly, you could call it "propagation velocity",

but there's nothing wrong at all with calling it "speed of the wave".
