Cujo written by Stephen King in 1981 was challenged by school trustees, parents and libraries after the book was published. It was added to the list of banned books in America because of it's profanity and sexually objectionable material.
Stephen King is one of America's most prolific and successful writers. However, he is also one of its most banned writers as well. His "The Dead Zone" was banned in 1992 and taken off many middle school library shelves based on a rape scene, various sexual situations and inappropriate language.
According to Robert Grumbine http://www.radix.net/~bobg/books/banned.1.html Carrie was considered to be trash and harmful to young girls because the book has lots of violence and abuse. It may still be considered as witchcraft and has sexual scenes that is not for immature people to read.
the narrator for the Lawnmower man trailer credited Stephen king as the author of that film. Stephen king had in fact written a short story in one of his novels short stories books, but it had NOTHIN to do with the science fiction film.
