Definately Tekken, it's way better! (No affence to anyone if you like Street Fighter)
Tekken,,even there is a lot of people would said street fighter is better,To,me I don't see how they compare 3d and 2d fighting games, they should compare 2d with 2d,,3d with 3d.So it would be like this
top 3 of 3d games top 3 of 2d games
-Tekken -Street fighter
-Soul calibur -King of fighters
-Virtua fighter -Blazeblue
PS(well, this my choice of games and certain fans ,it's not the official ranking of fighting games,,,in real life the sellers and the income are the definer of the best)
street fighter
tekken
soul calibur
No it's not....
SF is better than tekken in so many aspects IMO is because of the following:
- You can win in tekken by button mashing which is something that cannot be done in sf unless you are both noobs.
- Tekken hitboxes are waaaayy larger than SF which leaves so much margin for error. the premium here is ACCURACY hence the Chess game that is SF (more opportunity for mind games; hell, even daigo umehara compared SF to a battle of the minds).
- 2d vs 3d aside, tekken's pace is SLOW compared to SF's. Once you connect with a combo in tekken and just do a bunch of button presses you already win because you essentially do not allow your opponent to fight back because you have already comboed his @ss off.
- There is NO ZONING, plinking, pokes, footsies, or any other option with which to win in Tekken; it's all just combos and whoever hits first wins -- a game left for players who have AD/HD and cannot think of strategy in the heat of a match. Something SF players are so good at because it also involves a great deal of tactics and mindgames, not blindly rushing in and masing buttons. Tch. Even KOF is better than tekken.
- Finally, lets switch games; let a tekken player play SF and vice-versa. It's easier to learn and master tekken but can the same be said for SF? A 100% tekken player will struggle at SF but a 100% SF player will be great at tekken.
There are people that say SF is too hard to learn and master -- you can NEVER truly master a character in SF because there are so many things to pick up. Even the best professional players are still learning (daigo, poongko, fuudo, gamerbee, alex valle, filipino champ, et al.). Also, that is the appeal of SF -- that it is a fighting game for players who really LOVE to play and not just some mindless repetitive button mashing wherein once you learn this "move", you are unstoppable. Most Tekken players will never be able to grasp the level at which SF is played but don't get me wrong, there are players who do well with both games and they will be the first to tell you the difference. What I cannot stomach is some tekken fanboy proclaiming that their game is better when it is not. For a fighting game, it (tekken) is below SF and KOF and just slightly above MK but just slightly.
Street Fighter if your into more old-fashioned, 2D fighting games.
Tekken if your more into 3D gameplay, devistating combos, and storylines.
