Check bulbs they are double filamented (Larger filament for tail-smaller for stop lights) Check fuse for parking/tailights/dash lights Check switch Check bulbs they are double filamented (Larger filament for tail-smaller for stop lights) Check fuse for parking/tailights/dash lights Check switch
Those are completely separate circuits. First check the brake light bulbs to be sure they are not burned out. If they check okay, check the brake light fuse. If the fuse checks okay, check the brake light switch.
check fuses and fusible link, its connected to your positive battery cable.
This may either be a fuse issue, or a bulb issue. Check both.
Sounds like bulbs need to be replaced--they most likely are double filamented-larger filament for tail lights and smaller for brake lights be a broken wire or a bad ground Depends on the car....most use 2 different circuits the top light going straight to the brake pedale switch and the tailights going through a control module THEN to the tailights. Check EVERY fuse you have in the car
The part of the car that turns on the brake lights when you apply pressure to the brake pedal is called the brake switch. Releasing pressure from the pedal causes the brake switch to break its electrical contact, turning off the lights.
possible faulty brake light switch...sticking....usually located on top of metal arm connecting to your brake pedal. $10 part. There's a rubber bumper that the brake pedal switch hits against to turn off. When the bumper gets old it falls off (you will notice the pieces on the floor when you get in). Without the bumper in place the switch post just goes through the hole that the bumper is supposed to be in and is never depressed and the brake lights don't shut off.
check the fuse and check all tail light , do not assume all light s are good
The tail light fuse will be in the first column of fuses in the fuse box. The exact location of the tail light fuse will be listed on the inside cover of the fuse box.
The ground for the brake lamp. When the tail lights are off, the tail light circuit can act as a ground for the brake light. When the tail lights are on, it can't.
My rear window brake light works, but not my tail light brakes on my 1997 Monte Carlo. What is the problem?
i got a 2006toyota highlander my tail lights dont work but, every other light works please help me
Yes
Replace the light bulb. Tail lights are usually dual filament, 2 filaments in one bulb.
Double filamented bulbs - smaller filament is for brake lights - larger is for tailights Get a test light and connect one end to ground and the other to either wire and see which works tail or stop
tail light bulbs has two filaments inside. One for regular lights and a second for brake lights. One filament is burnt out. Change the bulb.
It could be a blown fuse. Tail lights and brake/turn are on separate fuses. Apparently there is not a ground problem since brake/turn works OK.
Those tail lights could be the brake lights you are seeing and that would be a faulty brake light switch or the brake light switch is out of adjustment.
The tail light/brake light bulb has two filaments. If one of the filaments is broken, you will get either only tail lights, or brake lights. If a new bulb doesn't work, then you have a broken wire or bad connection in your plug-in.
The brake lights and the tail lights are separate circuits. Check the brake light fuse, then check the brake light bulbs, then check the brake light switch.
Check the tail light bulbs. These bulbs do double duty. Thet are both the tail light & the brake light. Tail light part might be burnt out.
