The column shift on your 1992 F250 came loose and will not shift you can't find any information to reconnect whatever it is that you can't see that either popped off or broke Maybe a spring connection?

The shifting arm in linked to a shaft that controls the linkage to your transmission and if that shaft brakes it gives the feeling that your shifting arm (handle) is broke and you are unable to shift your truck into gear.

To fix this you must take apart your instrument panel and eventually drop your whole steering assembly, then you will be able to get to the shaft. It's a complicated process, but overall it depends on your mechanical skill level and your patience. I removed mine while it was dark and all I had was a flash light. It was fairly easy to replace and get put back together and the part is not that much, but it can only be purchased at a Ford Dealership.
