The nucleus is the spherical or ovoid compartment of a cell, which contain the chromosomes and associated molecules that control the characteristics for growth of cellular reproduction. Chromsomes are made of DNA, and contain genes which hold the organisms genetic code. The code is transmitted by RNA to the cytoplasm of the cell where enzymes are made.
