The hammer and sickle first appeared on the flag of what country?
The flag of the Soviet Union was the first to feature the hammer and sickle symbol. The flag was adopted in 1923 and was representative of the Russian Revolution in 1917.
The hammer and sickle Soviet flag last flew over the Kremlin on the night of December 25 - 26th 1991. Gorbachev resigned as President of the USSR that night and the Soviet flag was lowered at midnight. The flag was then replaced by the old tricolor of Imperial Russia which was raised over the Kremlin dome for the first time since 1917.
No one is really sure. The hammer and the nail were both inventions invented way, way back, but the nail is sure to have been from Templar times, when they were used in the contruction of King Solomon's Temple. As for the hammer, no one knows who invented it, because the hammer dates back probably to the times when man breathed his first. Way, way, way, back.
