The electric switch heater uses high voltage, from 480 to 750 volts, through coils that are fixed both on the web of the rails and with "crib heaters" that are laid underneath the movable rods between the ties.

These are typically more effective than other types of switch heaters because of the ability to provide the crib heaters, which cannot be used with gas heaters.

The heating elements are provided throughout the area of the movable parts of the switch layout.

Basically a water heater is a big water tank with insulation wrapped around it. cold water will then flow into it and will activate a thermostat. The thermostat will then either kick on an electric heating element inside of the tank or will fire up a gas heating system at the base of the tank. Once the thermostat hits it preset temperature it then turns off the heating coil or burner. the tank is the filled with hot water ready for use out of the hot water pipes.

This is called resistance heating. Your standard incandescant light bulb is a great example of a small electric heater. The tungsten filament presents a resistance to the flow of electricity thereby heating up the filament. Because of the properties of the filament the heating also produces light. The resistance of the heater element is such that most of the energy consumed is in the form of heat and not light although ultraviolet light is emitted. To get meaningful heat you have to apply significant current (Amps). Some heaters may have fans to try and distribute the heat quicker or if no fan the heat may transfer to the surrounding area by conduction or convection.

Very much like an electric stove. Electricity is passed through a resistive coil, which gets hot. The coil is immersed in a tank of water, so the heat is transferred, by conduction, to the water around it.

Electric stoves heat food by electricity. When the stove is turned on electricity enters the coils on top and in the oven to cook food.

An electric heater has an element that gets very hot. This heat is either radiated by a shiny backing plate, or it has a fan that blows air through the element.

What is electric water heater which used in house?

An electric water heater in a hot tank is called an immersion heater and many of those run at 3 kW with a thermostat to control the max temperature. Power showers use a type of water heater that heats the water at the point where it is used, without a tank. They run at 6-8 kW and are also controlled by a thermostat.
